Our finance team provides accounting services and financial support to the company as well as each of the Medivet practices. The Finance Department records payroll, inventory, accounts payable, receivable, fixed assets and all other financial elements. Our finance accountant reviews the records of each branch and department to determine the company’s financial position and establish if any changes are required to run cost-effectively. Tracy Gates - Group Finance Controller
Prior to joining Medivet in 2015, I studied Maths at Bham University. I went on to complete my ICAEW. I have many years of financial experience, the most recent being with Grant Thornton for 8 years. I am thrilled to have joined Medivet as the Group Financial Controller. At home, I have two female black cats, Ozzie and Eddie. In my free time, I enjoy watching cricket and spending time with the kids.
Melody Watson - Finance Manager
I joined Medivet in March 2011. My accounts career started many years ago whilst serving in the WRAF. Since then I have worked in banking, insurance, motor fleet, at a licensed trade charity and a distribution company. I have lived in Germany, Canada, Scotland and various places in England, before choosing to settle in Loudwater near High Wycombe. I am the treasurer of my local Royal British Legion and enjoy skiing, sunshine, socialising, having fun and - believe it or not - a good game of rugby, being an avid Leicester Tigers fan.
Val Murray - Tax Manager and Financial Assistant
I started as a veterinary nurse in 1972 with David Fluss at the Watford practice and between us we built up a thriving business. In May 1986 Asher Teper approached David Fluss to merge with the Hendon practice. By this time l had 3 children so sadly l couldn't do the nursing shifts and so my role changed; l joined the finance department at the Medivet Support Centre and I’ve here ever since!
Janet Beaty – Payroll Manager
Before joining Medivet, I worked for thirteen years in the payroll industry, end to end processing, training on software, and implementation consultancy. I enjoy paying people accurately and on time. At home I have two 8-year-old cats; Sox and Splodge, both brother and sister! I also have one 5-year-old Rottweiler called Amber. Outside of work I enjoy sewing, reading, and walking.
Zoe Allard - Accounts Assistant
I started working at Medivet in September 2008 having previously worked in retail. My daily duties within the accounts department consist of dealing with our branches, cashing up and weekly banking. I also deal with the accounts for Lab services. I really enjoy my role and working at the Support Centre.
Alan White – Purchase Ledger Assistant
I have worked for Medivet since 2014 as a purchase ledger assistant having previously worked for Reliance Security and Arjo Wiggins where I worked for 22 years. My hobbies include travelling, transport especially trains, watching cricket, football and various other sports. I have 2 cats, a tortoiseshell called Tinkerbell who we acquired from Battersea Dogs and Cats home in 2005, and our latest member of the family a black & white male called Shadow who we took in as a stray in 2015.
Jane Lewis – Accounts Assistant
I have been working in the Finance Department since January 2016 on a temporary basis, and now find myself a permanent member of the team. I am very pleased to be working with everyone at Medivet. I previously worked at Tandy Ltd, a small family run printing company, where I worked for 8 years as their Bookkeeper. Prior to this, I worked for the Blood Service for 9 years supervising a small team within the finance department.
Outside of work I have achieved a Camino (walking holiday) in Northern Spain, walking over 100 kilometres from Burgos to Santiago and I really enjoy practising yoga, cooking and going on spa breaks.
Hannah Rayner - Accounts Assistant
I joined Medivet in March 2009, I am a member of the finance team and enjoy the various challenges my current role provides. My main duties include maintaining the sales ledger within the company. I also maintain the accounts for our sister company Topbuild. In my free time I enjoy going to the gym and socialising with friends. I have two cats called Boots and Smudge and a crazy Labrador called Max.
Toby May – Accounts Assistant
I achieved a 2:1 in BA (Hons) American Studies and History from De Montfort University. Before joining Medivet I worked for PVI. I am currently studying CIMA to be a management accountant. Outside of work I enjoy running, travelling and going to the theatre, spending time with my girlfriend, friends and family. I also intend to start clay pigeon shooting in the near future!

Before joining Medivet, I worked within the NHS. At home, I have a cat- a moggy called JJ. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, walking, playing tennis and gardening.
Chandu Shah - Purchase Ledger Administrator
Before starting at Medivet I worked as an accounts assistant for the British Standards Institution in London. In my spare time I enjoy watching football and other sports.
