Fleet & Accommodation
Our Fleet Department is headed by David Galpin and our Accommodation Department is headed by Tanya Sumner with Chris Horswill acting as Assistant to both departments.
Our Fleet Department is responsible for all things relating to our fleet of ambulances, cars and vans which includes procurement of new vehicles, disposal of old vehicles, insurance, signwriting, servicing and repairs.
Our Accommodation Department is responsible for providing accommodation to all of our vets. The Accommodation Department also organises periodic checks to ensure all fixtures, fittings, furniture and appliances are in good condition, as well as requesting maintenance and refurbishment when necessary.
If you require more information, have any questions or need to speak with our Fleet or Accommodation Department, please contact our Reception on 01923 470000.
David Galpin - Fleet Manager
I started working for Medivet in 1992 as a veterinary nurse. I mostly worked at the Hendon 24 hour practice. I left in 1997 and went on to manage a large mobile phone shop in North London. I came back in 2001 and took over the management of vehicles and accommodation provided to vets. My role now focuses solely on fleet including acquisition of new vehicles as well as vehicle maintenance and branding.
Tanya Sumner - Accommodation Manager
I joined Medivet in March 2010 as Fleet and Accommodation Assistant after working for a vehicle recovery company for 8 years and in the estate agency sector for 4 years. I have just recently taken over management of the Accommodation Department and I am enjoying the challenges that come with it.
Christopher Horswill - Fleet and Accommodation Assistant
I graduated with an Animal Science degree from the University of Kent in 2011 after doing an AVCE Business and Finance course. Before joining Medivet I had been working as a chef for over 8 years working abroad in both Australia and New Zealand. I was in need of a career change and fortunately started working here! I aid both David and Tanya in the running of the fleet and accommodation, with my duties varying on a day to day basis. Whether that is running a vehicle to a practice or helping to arrange flats for our vets. I enjoy games, technology, football and pretty much any social activity!
