Gillian Chantler - Group Trainer and Coach
I joined Medivet, in 2011 having spent the previous 21 years working in the Prison Service and I left my final role as Head of Staff Development at HMP Feltham just before I started working for Medivet. It's a big change from prisoners to animals but it is equally challenging! What I like most about this job is visiting the practices, getting out an about and meeting and supporting people. I live in South Buckinghamshire and I have previously had 4 Battersea rescue dogs and various other assorted small furry pets. My pride and joy are my three ponds and all the local wildlife they attract, including my own personal heron. My interests include gardening, music, brass rubbing, reading and travelling.
Debbie Frost – Group Trainer and Mental Health Support
I have had a long and varied career with Medivet since 1995 when I joined the group. I began as a receptionist at the Hendon clinic, before deciding that I wanted to nurse, which I did for five years with Medivet. In 2002 I began teaching at the nursing college in Watford and gained my Certificate in Education in 2004. I loved teaching and stayed with this for 12 years – alongside progressing into management, becoming head of college, setting up and managing safeguarding and mental health support.
I am now with Medivet training and development department and deliver many of the training courses that Medivet has to offer for staff. I also provide support and training with mental health and wellbeing issues within Medivet. At home, I have a son, Harry, a dog (Izzy) and a cat, Spooky – who all keep me very busy.
