Here For You 24/7: Our Hub and Spoke Model Explained

blog header 24 hr

Here at Medivet, we have adopted a very unique system which allows us to ensure that we can be here for you and your beloved furries 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You never know when an emergency will arise, and when it involves one of your family members, even if that be the four-legged variety, it’s very reassuring to know that help is available and close at hand.

Our unique hub and spoke model allows us to deliver continuous, seamless and first-class care to you and your pets 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, no matter what your location or situation is. You can drop in and see us anytime, plus we offer free advice over the phone 24/7.

What is our hub and spoke model?

Here at Medivet, we have seven large 24-hour centres (our hubs) which are always open and which boast state-of-the-art facilities. Our 24-hour hubs are fully equipped and capable of performing the most complicated of surgeries. As standard, our 24-hour centres have X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, MRI and CT facilities. There are always vets and nurses on-site to deal with any emergencies, day or night.

In addition to these hubs, we have a large integrated network of over 100 smaller practices all around the country (our satellite branches) that, while not open 24 hours themselves, each feed into one of our 24-hour centres.

The benefits of this are that, at Medivet, there is always someone to look after your pet or deal with your emergency. Being one big family of veterinary professionals means that we can internally refer any case to a practice that is best equipped to deal with it. It also means that, with our huge collective network of knowledge, there is always someone on hand to deal with unusual or specialist cases.

Another benefit of our integrated approach is that we can maximise our continuity of care through our purpose-build practice management system, Freedom. Freedom stores details of all clients and their pets, including comprehensive patient notes. This means that, no matter which practice a client visits, the vet will immediately have a clear understanding of their pet’s medical history, current medications and any plans for their ongoing care. These records are updated across the entire group every two minutes!

No matter what your requirements are, here at Medivet we’ve got it covered. So whether you are faced with an unexpected medical emergency, or just need to make sure your pet’s flea and worming treatments are up to date, you can rely on us to take care of things.
