Robert Christian Wienesen – Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated in 2011 from Utrecht University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in the Netherlands. Before joining the Medivet family at Medivet Reading, I worked at practices in Dover, Darlington and Birmingham. I have a special interest in exotic animals such as birds, reptiles and small furries. I also have a keen interest in ophthalmology and anaesthesiology. At home, I have two pets of my own: a Frisian Pointer called Sita and a spotted tortoise. In my free time I love to road cycle and compete in triathlons, including half iron distances. I have a fondness of model trains as well.
Emily Lovejoy - Head Veterinary Nurse
I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in June 2011. I carried out my training at Moor Cottage Veterinary Hospital. I started working for Abbey in December 2012 as a Veterinary Nurse. I have recently returned to work as Head Nurse from a year's maternity leave. I have a one year old son called Samuel. He is a very cheeky chappy! My main interests at work are anaesthesia, patient care, nurse clinics and I do like cleaning! My interests outside of work include running, watching rugby, relaxing in front of the tv and spending time with my lovely family. My claim to fame is that when I was 17 I played rugby for England under 19s. Im very proud of this achievement.I have a cat called Max, who is maybe the friendliest cat there ever was. I rescued him when he was a tiny kitten. He's now three years old. I also have a bearded Dragon called Hurley. I have had him since he was just an egg and is now seven years old.
Becky Weston – Patient Care Assistant
I received a diploma in Business Administration. I worked in Administration for BT and volunteered at Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue before joining the Medivet family as a Patient Care Assistant. I have a special interest in feline and canine care, so I am looking forward to gaining further experience through Medivet working with dogs and cats providing specialised care. In my spare time I enjoy watching ice hockey.
Tara Egan – Mobile Patient Care Assistant
I studied Level Three Health and Social Care at college and gained a pass in the National Diploma. However, I decided I wanted to look after animals instead, so I went back to college to study Level Three Animal Management (Extended National Diploma and gained a distinction). Before joining Medivet, I was working at a local pub whilst studying. I love animals, and I love caring for them. I also enjoy meeting new people and gaining new experiences. At home, I have a very cheeky English Bull Terrier who keeps me on my toes. I have also got a gorgeous Arabian horse. I love all strains of equestrian games however, in my eyes there is nothing better than going out for a relaxing hack after a hard day’s work!
