Kate Tamsin Moseley – Lead Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified in 2010, in Pretoria, South Africa, where I obtained my Bachelor of Veterinary Science. I registered with the RCVS in April 2015. Before joining Medivet, I worked in South Africa and then came to the UK in 2015 where I worked as a locum vet in various practices. I have now chosen to make Poole my home. My special areas of interest are small animal medicine, surgery and exotics. At home, I have two Yorkies called Abby and Karigan. My hobbies include hiking, camping, travelling and reading.
Sue Wheeler – Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the London Royal Veterinary College in 1993. Before joining Medivet, I ran my own practice from 1987 until 2016, which I built up from scratch. My special area of interest is soft tissue surgery. At home, I have a cheeky cat called Rosie, who thinks she is a dog! My hobbies include playing tennis, gardening, playing golf and going travelling.
Dawn Andrew – Veterinary Surgeon
I studied at the London Royal Veterinary College and qualified in 2008. Before I started at Medivet, I had worked for various different veterinary practices. I enjoy all aspects of general practice. I have lots of pets at home, including tortoises, chickens, fish and two dogs. Outside of work, I love gardening and walking, and I am a huge fan of Southampton Football Club!
Emily Wyson – Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified from the University of Bristol in 2003, where I obtained my BVSc. Before joining Medivet, I was working as an assistant vet and also a locum vet. My special area of interest is animal medicine. At home, I have two dogs and in my spare time, I enjoy camping, walking and going travelling.
Alfonso Candenas Gallengo – Veterinary Surgeon
I obtained a Bachelor in Veterinary Science in 2010 at Valencia, Spain. Before joining Medivet, I spent the last 2 years in a mixed practice at Staffordshire. Then I decided move to the Dorset region and join this great team at Canford Heath. I consider myself a keen all-rounder but my main interests lie within surgery and pain management. At home I have a lovely ginger cat called Paco. Outside of work I enjoy climbing, DIY and cooking.
Nicola Johnson – Head Veterinary Nurse
I joined Ark-Aid Veterinary Practice in Poole in 1997 and qualified from Lynwood School of Veterinary Nursing in 1999. I worked as the deputy head nurse then head nurse for several years. I also spent a few years working at two other local practices then re-joined the practice in 2012 - I particularly enjoy working in theatre and doing the administration. Outside of work, I love dancing and currently do Ballroom and Latin dance, yoga and travelling.
Natalie Oliver – Veterinary Nurse
I graduated from Hartpury College in 1997 with a BSc (Hons) in Animal Science. I then trained to be a veterinary nurse at Telford College and qualified in 2002. Before joining Medivet, I worked in animal welfare for the Dog’s Trust, doing hydrotherapy with dogs. I love being a veterinary nurse and enjoy doing the weight clinics in practice. In my spare time, I like going swimming, going to the theatre and spending time with my family. I am also really interested in alternative therapies such as reflexology.
Leanne Stephens – Veterinary Nurse
I qualified in 2006 and began my career as a veterinary nurse at a Ringwood Vets. I then moved to Ark Aid Vets which then became a part of the Medivet family. I love my job and really enjoy doing the nurse clinics and getting to educate the clients. In my spare time, I like writing articles on pet healthcare for a local magazine. At home, I have a Jack Russell called Minnie. Outside of work, I enjoy taking my dog for walks, camping and dress-making.
Kirstie Baalham – Student Veterinary Nurse
Before joining Medivet, I was working as an animal nursing assistant. I have a keen interest in feline behaviour and completed a course on this subject. The areas of veterinary practice I enjoy most are critical nursing, orthopaedics, exotics and nurse clinics. At home, I have two dogs; a Westie called Bailey, and a miniature Schnauzer called Lillie who is a rescue dog. I also have another pet that is slightly more unusual – my bearded dragon, called Mushu! Outside of work, I enjoy trampolining, cycling, aerial fitness and camping.
Ruth Fuller – Patient Care Assistant
Before joining Medivet, I was an art teacher before deciding on a change. My special interests lay within rabbit care and welfare. At home, I have two house rabbits; one is a Californian called Tobias and the other is a Dutch cross called Nahla. Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, painting, running and surfing.
Iva Chaves – Client Care Assistant
I studied in Brazil, where I achieved a General Academic Studies Degree in Veterinary Medicine, in 1987. I also have a Level Three NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership. I enjoy studying and am currently completing online courses in Animal Psychology and Advanced Canine First Aid. Before joining Medivet, I spent six years working for the Royal Exeter Hotel, on reception. My passion for animals and people lead me to my career at Medivet; I love welcoming the pets and their owners, helping them, and making them feel looked after. Outside of work, I enjoy listening to music, watching films, travelling and dancing (I used to do ballet).
Carol Ann Moir – Client Care Assistant
Before joining Medivet, I worked as the branch administrator for a motorhome company and before that, I worked at a holiday park. I have also worked for the Blood Transfusion Service. I really enjoy my role as client care assistant; my job combines the two things I love; working with the people and animals. My sense of humour gets me through everything! At home, I have a little Chihuahua called Darcy, as well as a Milk Snake called Floyd. Outside of work, I enjoy going travelling, taking my dog for long walks, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Juliet Maidment – Client Care Assistant
Before joining Medivet I worked as a window dresser at a department store. I have always had a creative eye but knew my true passion was working with animals. I've been a cat owner for many years and now have 2 cats called Monica and Hilary. I also volunteer for Cats Protection & get to go cat cuddling each week. I enjoy cycling, upcycling old furniture and taking holidays in VW campervans.
