Tine Van EgdomTine Van Egdom – Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified in 2002 in Pretoria, South Africa. Before joining Medivet, I was in private practice at a mixed animal practice in a rural area of South Africa. My special areas of interest lie in small animals, behaviours, and exotics. Currently I do not have any pets at home, but in South Africa I had six cats and five dogs! Outside of work I enjoy sports, the outdoors, wildlife, reading, and exercising. Thank you to everyone for making me feel at home here at Medivet Weymouth.

I have completed an Animal Care apprenticeship at Kingston Maurward College in 2009. Before joining Medivet, I worked here when it was Moorcroft veterinary practice from September 2008 until summer 2011. I then moved away but came back in July 2012 and have remained here until present. I love all aspects of my job but theatre is what I enjoy doing most. I am starting my Animal Nursing Assistant course shortly and hope to receive my certificate next year. I then hope to qualify as a registered veterinary nurse! At home I have one working cocker spaniel called Cece-Belle, two domestic shorthair boys called Sox and Barney, one domestic longhaired boy called Teddy, and one lop bunny called Bella. Outside of work I enjoy socialising with friends, spending lots of time with my daughter and partner, and volunteering as a cheerleading dance teacher at a local church!
