I grew up on a farm in South Africa and after qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in South Africa, I worked in small animal practice in Johannesburg for a number of years.  In 1998 my wife, Marisa, and I, as well as our two cats, Skat and Mata, moved to the UK. Marisa and I worked in a small animal practice in Sussex and we joined Medivet in 2003.  I became a Partner in February 2004. We have two daughters, Ina, who is 7 years of age, and Retha, who is 4 years of age.

I grew up in Pretoria and after qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in South Africa, I worked in small animal practice in Johannesburg for a number of years. In 1998 my husband, Koot, and I, as well as our two Oriental cats moved to the UK. Koot and I worked in a small animal practice in Sussex and joined Medivet in 2003. Medivet gives me the opportunity to work part time to juggle being a veterinary surgeon with motherhood.

I started working for Medivet in August 2007. Before that I went to college to study animal science and it was there I realised that working with animals was what I wanted to do. I like being a mobile nurse where I get to move round all the branches as I see different cases of animals every day. My own animals include a dog, ‘Holly’, a cat, ‘George’ that was a stray and a horse, ‘Freddy’.

I have 5 cats, 2 dogs, a rabbit and a budgie. I am really enjoying my role at Medivet, I am gaining valuable veterinary practice experience, and love helping to care for your pets. I enjoy many exciting hobbies including sky diving, bungee jumping and archery in my free time.
