Grant Furness - Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified in Zimbabwe in 1992 and after working in mixed animal practice there, moved with my wife to England in 1998. I joined Medivet in 2006 and a Partner in 2007. I have two children, a lovely "pigeon pair" and have a cat called Stripe.
Sophie Collett - Head Veterinary Nurse
Before joining Medivet, I worked part time in a Sports Centre and at a Hairdressers which I really enjoyed doing. However, I have always had a passion for a career working with animals. I really enjoy working with exotic species and I have a special interest in radiology. At home, I have a Labrador called Freddie and a cat called Lottie who I hand reared since she was 1 week old. I also have 4 guinea pigs and tropical fish! Outside of work, I enjoy socialising with my friends, going to the gym, walking my dog, shopping, photography and scuba diving. I am also currently learning Spanish which is coming along slowly!
Paige Turone - Student Veterinary Nurse
I previously studied archaeology at the University College London (UCL) before joining Medivet in December 2014. I am extremely interested in reptiles and exotics. I have, and breed, a number of reptiles of my own; this includes a Caledonian Giant Gecko, Albino Ball Python, Bearded Dragon and a Boa Constrictor. I also have a Toy Poodle called Doris and 3 cats called Elvis, Pancake & Mowgli. When I am not working, I enjoy cooking, baking, and criminal psychology.
Charlotte Ruffles - Student Veterinary Nurse
I completed my A levels and then studied psychology at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. I also worked in a variety of retail jobs. I joined Medivet in October 2013 gaining a key interest in surgery, anaesthesia, X-rays and ultrasonography. An extra benefit to working at Medivet is being able to play with lots of puppies and kittens! At home, I have a chocolate Labrador called Riley who I love to take on long walks in my spare time. I also enjoy socialising, swimming, and helping with my partner’s baseball team.
