Meet the Medivet Risedale Team

The staff at Risedale aim to deliver the highest standards of veterinary care with a personal and caring attitude. We remain dedicated to providing services of the highest standards in a sympathetic, friendly and reassuring manner.

As well as our permanent staff at Risedale, we also have a team of mobile staff who work in several Medivet practices across Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Click here to view a list of mobile staff members who may work at Risedale from time to time.

I graduated in South Korea in 2005 and achieved my MSc in Infectious Diseases in Animals at the RVC in 2006. I joined Medivet in 2007, where I gained valuable experience and made special friendships. I currently live in North London with my husband Martin and my rescued cat Zizou.

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in July 2013 having previously graduated from there with a BSc in Veterinary Science. I then joined Medivet in September 2013 and became a permanent member of staff at Risedale in the following March. I love all aspects of veterinary medicine but have a particular fondness for small furries especially my little bunny Chester!

I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2014 from Berlin, Germany. Before joining Medivet, I spent a year travelling the world and also worked at an animal shelter in India for a month. I am interested in all aspects of veterinary science. I rescued a Miniature Pinscher named Juge. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, cycling, walking or jogging with my dog and travelling.

Nursing Team

Stephanie McCarthyStephanie McCarthy - Head Veterinary Nurse

I have been working at Medivet Risedale since 2009 as a student veterinary nurse. I have since qualified as an RVN and am now the Head Nurse. Previous to working with Medivet, I studied and worked at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital. I have a Northern Inuit named Elliot, a retired Guide Dog named Hazel and two cats, Oreo and Amara. I love working at Risedale as the clients are lovely and my staff are a joy to work with.

I qualified as a veterinary nurse 13 years ago, I previously worked for the BVA, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Royal Canin, and I have interest in behaviour and nutrition and have a certificate in small animal nutrition. I now work part time at the Risedale practice for a break from my two small children, I have a horse and two rascally cats as well.

Rachael -Leonard -SVNRachel Leonard - Student Veterinary Nurse

I graduated from Northampton University with BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Studies in 2012. I've been with Medivet since October 2012 and joined the Risedale team in June 2013. I have Staffordshire bull terrier called Sadie at home, she's an old girl who still acts like a puppy and loves playing with her toys!

Natalie LawrenceFiona McKillop - Student Veterinary Nurse

I joined Medivet in June 2013 after completing a degree in Animal Management at University of Hertfordshire. I previously did experience with Medivet during this time which confirmed to me that Veterinary nursing was the career for me. I began floating at a variety of local Medivet branches, which I found very interesting. I was then offered a permanent position at Medivet Watford which I love as I enjoy the busy hospital environment and the wide variety of cases. I have a gorgeous ginger tom cat called Todd who I rescued over 10 years ago, and he is my absolute pride and joy.
