Veterinary Surgeons

Catarina CorujasCatarina Corujas - Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I was born in Portugal, in a lovely mountainous countryside town called Bragança. I have always had an interest in science, so I became a veterinary surgeon in 2003. I have worked in a small animal practice since 2005 and I've been in the UK since 2006. I joined Medivet in February 2009 as head veterinary surgeon at the St. Albans practice. I have a special interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry. I have a two cats at home called Tobias and Janita. I look forward to seeing you at our practice!

Katja FrizzeraKatja Frizzera - Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

Medivet introduced me to the wonderful world of animal care back in 2001, when I worked as a nurse/receptionist. I therefore decided to relocate to Vienna to train at vet school. During my studies I won a couple of scholarships that allowed me to work at the Institute of Internal Medicine prior to graduation. I also worked at several private practices around Vienna. Furthermore, I enjoyed a 6 month internship at a busy emergency and referral centre in Brooklyn, New York. Before moving back to the UK, I also worked as a veterinary surgeon in Italy. I am an outgoing person, ready to help and enjoy life. In my spare time I like reading, experiencing Camden Town and going for long walks in Richmond Park with my two Battersea rescue dogs Domino and Zachary. I also have a mischievous cat called Yolo. I am currently studying towards a post graduate certificate in internal and emergency medication and have a special interest in abdominal and cardiac ultrasonography.

Steph SquiresSteph Squires – Patient Care Assistant

I joined Medivet in July 2015 and became a member of the St Albans Medivet team in December of that year. I enjoy the day-to-day tasks that my role includes, and of course all the animals I get to work with. At home, I have a Cocker Spaniel called Libby and four chickens called Gracie, Beatrice, Biscuit, and Sybil. I also have a horse called Elliot, who is a Thoroughbred Cross; I love to ride and spend as much time with him as possible.
