Nicola Lawlor - Partner & Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified from Liverpool University in 1994 with a credit in Small Animal Studies, and since then have worked in small animal practices in Kent. I am married with three lovely girls, and we have various pets including Molly the Labrador, two Budgies and two Duprasi. I enjoy singing and I am a member of the Vigo Singers as well as playing the piano.
Emma Bestow - Partner & Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified from Liverpool University in 1996, and worked in Sheffield for 3 years before moving to London and eventually settling in Kent. I enjoy all aspects of my veterinary work and have further qualifications in Veterinary Homeopathy.
I am married and have 2 lovely twins (Rex and Lily) who keep me busy when I'm not working! We have an equally lovely tabby cat called Zoomer, and in the little spare time I have I enjoy cooking and running.
Amelia Gooch - Mobile Assistant Veterinary Surgeon
I joined Medivet in October 2013, having previously been working as a locum vet and vet nurse since graduating in July 2013. In my spare time I enjoy cycling and walking my three miniature Schnauzers.
Nikki Maidment - Head Veterinary Nurse
I started my nursing career in October 2000 at a large veterinary hospital in Kent, I completed my training in 2005 where I qualified with credits. Since qualifying I have gone on to train as a nutrition advisor, Diabetes advisor and an A1 Assessor/Clinical Coach. I enjoy all aspects of nursing especially anaesthesia, radiography and training students. In the future I would like to complete a certificate in emergency and critical care.
Lauren Asseter - Student Veterinary Nurse
I am enjoying working at Medivet and I am now studying to become a veterinary nurse. I am an animal lover and to become a qualified nurse is my dream job! I am an avid football supporter and enjoy walking my dog.
Lucy Burgess – Patient Care Assistant
I hold a national diploma in Art and Design as well as a BA in Comparative Literature from Kent University. Before joining Medivet, I volunteered at Folly Wildlife Sanctuary. I enjoy working with wildlife and looking after the welfare of animals. At home I have a kitten called Meeko, which is after the raccoon in the film Pocahontas. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering, pole fitness and cooking.
Claire McMahon - Client Care Assistant
I completed my Degree in Performing Arts in 2012, and since then I have gained a lot of experience working as a Receptionist. I love working at Medivet as I love the close interaction I get to have with animals everyday. I own a gorgeous Golden Retriever called Kizzi. I aim to train with Medivet and complete a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.
Elaine Leacy – Client Care Assistant
My most recent background is in customer services within a retail environment. I live in Sevenoaks with my family and my pets – Tudor my lovely old Golden Retriever, two cats, bunnies, two hamsters, a tortoise and a tropical fish tank! When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family and pets. Working at Medivet means I can combine my love of animals with my love of customer service.
Helen Payne – Client Care Assistant
I worked with horses before joining Medivet as the manager of a livery yard. I have a horse which I enjoy riding in my spare time, and have just started competing him at local dressage competitions. I am looking forward to working at Medivet and meeting all of the pets!
