Blanca Serra Gomez de la Serna – Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2013 and gained a degree in veterinary medicine (DVM) from Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia, Spain. Before joining Medivet, I spent a year and a half interning at the university's small animal hospital. I am mainly interested in imaging, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology. At home, I have a Cavalier dog named Margarita (Maggie for friends) and a little cockatiel called Bowie who is in Spain at the moment. In my spare time, I love walking Maggie around the countryside if the English weather allows it. I like to whistle "always look on the bright side of life" with Bowie, and also enjoying films and sushi! In Spain, I used to snorkel during summers and spend time on the beach with friends. I always say I consider myself a lucky woman as I can use my hobby for a living. I have always loved being a vet!
Faye Lakin - Head Veterinary Nurse
I have a number of qualifications including, NVCE in Animal Care, RCVS level 2 & 3 in Veterinary Nursing and a Diploma from the University of Lancashire in Clinical Veterinary Nursing. I also completed my Level 1 & 2 as a Veterinary Nutrition Advisor. While studying, I worked at local kennels for over 2 years while completing my Animal Care Course. I then went on to work with Medivet Prescot where I was based for 9 years whilst completing my education. I am thrilled to now be with Medivet Billinge. I am particularly interested in emergency and critical care, radiography, animal behaviour, nutrition, hence the nurse weight clinics I enjoy holding for clients and their pets. I have a number of pets of my own! I have 2 rabbits, a rescue cat, my english Bull Terrier, Annabelle (also known as little piggy) and 2 horses, Rocky and Monty. In my free time I enjoy riding & looking after my horses, walking Annabelle and emergency and critical pet care.
Charlotte Heaton - Student Veterinary Nurse
I graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2012 with a BSc Hons degree in BioVeterinary Science. I have always known that I wanted a career working with animals aso now I am training to become a veterinary nurse training. The part of my job I enjoy the most is getting to know the clients and their lovely pets. My favourite hobby is spending time with my 14 year old terrier cross called Rosie.
