I have been a vet since 1980 and have worked in my current practice since 1987. I enjoy all aspects of small animal work, but specifically radiography and surgery. I am married and have 4 children, 2 of whom are still at school. I also attend the Holy Trinity Church in the city centre. My main past time is road cycling, but I also enjoy camping canoeing and kayaking.

I joined Borrajo's in 1997 working at the Uppingham Road clinic until January 2009. I then moved over to join the team at our Birstall clinic when I now work Part-time having recently become a mother. My main veterinary interests are small animal internal medicine and Ultrasonography. My other interests include, squash, gym, walking and reading. The majority of my spare time is spent looking after my 4 boys (my husband, 2 gorgeous sons and Dylan our ginger Tomcat)!

Nursing Team

Clare LigginsClare Liggins - Veterinary Nurse

I began working as a Veterinary Nurse in December 2004. I have now been in practice for 5 years and became a qualified nurse in August 2009. I enjoy working with animals and nursing them back to health by providing the patients with care and the attention they require. I have a black Labrador dog which I enjoy taking for long walks and watching him swim in the rivers and lakes. I also take him training and he loves playing with the other dogs. I have two cats and enjoy horse riding although I sadly had to sell my horse due to lack of time.

I have worked in Veterinary Practices for three and a half years. I studied a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management for two years and recieved a triple distinction for the course. I live on a farm and have many animals, including a house rabbit called Hunny and a three legged cat called Milo. I enjoy my job as a Patient Care Assistant because every day I help animals and also learn something new. My particular interests are post operative care of our patients and surgery.

Adi -Senior -PartnerAdi Nell - Senior Partner and Head of Professional Relations

I graduated in 1992 and gained my Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology in 1998. I have worked as an assistant, locummed for over five years and ran a dermatology referral practice. I was the Resident in Dermatology at the Animal Health Trust and spent time at Cambridge Vet School, too. I joined Medivet in 2002 as a Partner in Hayes, and moved into the senior partnership later that year. I am very active in representing Medivet to the wider profession and have served on BVA Committees and as President of the Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons.

Grainne FreemanGrainne Freeman – Midlands Area Manager

I finished my degree in Business Management and Economics in 1997 and began working in the wine trade, however, I always felt as though something was missing. In 2003, having done some travelling, I decided to start my career again and retrain as a veterinary nurse. I loved working with the clients and patients alike and enjoyed my role as a head nurse. When the practice I worked at in 2009 became part of the Medivet group, I was asked if I would like to become an area manager. I have very much enjoyed working here ever since. I love the variety of my job, and knowing we are all working together to help those that can't help themselves is always rewarding. I still love the animal aspect of my job and I am not above sneaking into the kennel room to snuggle kittens on a regular basis.
