Veterinary Surgeons

Gillian HasberryGillian Hasberry - Head Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from Cambridge University in 1986 and worked for 10 years in predominantly small animal practices in Derbyshire before joining Hayes and Borrajo in Leicester in 1996. This coincided with their acquisition of the Oadby branch and I have enjoyed helping this part of the practice group grow and develop. My main clinical interests are dentistry and soft tissue surgery. My spare time is largely filled with my horses, competing in all riding club activities but especially dressarge and endurance. I have seen a lot of changes at Oadby since 1996 and now I look forward to working with Medivet for the benefit of our clients and their pets.

Nursing team

Lucia VarahLucia Varah - Practice Co-ordinator

I have been working in veterinary practices for approximately 18 years. Ever since early childhood I have been fascinated by animals of all kinds. I have a particular interest in rabbits, exotic species and wildlife. I currently have 5 rescue rabbits and I am committed to helping clients understand the unique needs of these delightful creatures. My dedication has caused my colleagues to refer to me as the 'Mad Bunny Lady' a name I wear with pride! I look forward to my future career with Medivet.

Louisa Di GregorioLouisa Di Gregorio - Student Veterinary Nurse

I started in 2001 after studying a National Diploma in Animal Care and Management for 3 years at Brooksby College. My love and dedication towards animals started as a child and will be second nature to me forever. My big interests are canine psychology, in which i re-habilitated my now perfect rescue pooch, Jinny. I love my job and working as a team with the lovely vets and nurses here.

Lucy TerryLucy Terry – Student Veterinary Nurse

I completed my BSc (Hons) in Equine Sports Science from Nottingham Trent University in 2014. While studying, I worked at Medivet St Ives as a Client Care Assistant. I am excited to have joined Medivet Oadby. I love all aspects of veterinary care and am particularly interested in orthopaedics and equine veterinary care. I have two cats at home, Millie and Sooty, or better known as Panda and Bear. I enjoy spending time with friends and horse riding.

Grainne FreemanGrainne Freeman – Midlands Area Manager

I finished my degree in Business Management and Economics in 1997 and began working in the wine trade, however, I always felt as though something was missing. In 2003, having done some travelling, I decided to start my career again and retrain as a veterinary nurse. I loved working with the clients and patients alike and enjoyed my role as a head nurse. When the practice I worked at in 2009 became part of the Medivet group, I was asked if I would like to become an area manager. I have very much enjoyed working here ever since. I love the variety of my job, and knowing we are all working together to help those that can't help themselves is always rewarding. I still love the animal aspect of my job and I am not above sneaking into the kennel room to snuggle kittens on a regular basis.
