Johann Viljoen - Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated as a veterinary surgeon (BVSc) in 1992 from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. In 2002 I did an extra 3 year post-graduate degree, BVSc (Hons). From 1992 to 1995, I worked in Namibia as a mixed animal practitioner (small animals, cattle and horses). From 1997 I owned a successful private practice for 15 years where I realised my true passion is with small animals. I enjoy all types of surgery, difficult medical cases, ophthalmology and ultrasonography.
At home, I have a female Labrador called Nina, and my male cat named Josef is an absolute character.
I love to listen to classical music, gardening and travelling. I'm addicted to most sports, especially rugby, golf, cricket, gymnastics and Korean martial arts. I believe that the 'human-animal bond' is one of the most emotional experiences there is in life. As a veterinarian, I always endeavour to appreciate this very special bond. I joined the Medivet family as I believe they share the same values.
Victoria Jayne Elliott – Veterinary Nurse
I completed my Bachelors of Science (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and welfare from Chester University in 2010. I qualified as a Veterinary nurse in January 2014. Before joining Medivet, I worked in boarding kennels. I love my job and I enjoy caring for and seeing animals make a full recovery. At home I have a dog, a cat, 2 bearded dragons and 1 leopard gecko. I enjoy spending time with my pets, socialising, outdoor activities, such as skiing, in my free time.
Jenny Evans - Student Veterinary Nurse
I completed my BSc in Marine Vertebrate Zoology from Bangor University. Before joining Medivet, I nursed sea turtles in Greece as well as gaining animal care experince working in a Kennel. I truly enjoy my work with Medivet and the variation that comes with the role of veterinary nursing. I do have a dog of my own at home, my rescued cross breed who goes by the name of Patch. I look forward to meeting you and your wonderful pets at Medivet Prescot.
Gemma Wilson – Student Veterinary Nurse
I am currently studying for my Level Three Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Before joining Medivet, I had a placement for two years in Warrington. I enjoy looking after patients before and after surgery. At home, I have two guinea pigs, two rabbits and four tortoises. I also own a horse and love to go horse riding in my spare time!
Alison Robinson – Patient Care Assistant
In 2012, I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a BSc in Zoology. Before joining Medivet, I worked on a small animal farm and also worked at Chestergates Referral Hospital where I gained a lot of experience working in the veterinary industry. At home I have a beautiful border collie named Meg. Outside of work I enjoy socialising with friends and family, taking part in outdoor activities with Meg and travelling whenever possible.
Paula Hunter – Patient Care Assistant
