Stewart Bedford – Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
I obtained my BVSc from Liverpool University in 1987 and achieved my certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 1998. My wife and I were the previous owners of Pearl Veterinary Group and upon becoming a part of the Medivet group we are now both branch partners. My special interests lie within orthopaedics and spinal surgery. At home, I have several pets; two Jack Russell Terriers (Ruby and Alfie), a Domestic Shorthair cat (Graham), a Pygmy Goat (Sullivan) and a Dandie Dinmont called Hattie. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, doing gardening, DIY, swimming, karate, scuba diving and going skiing.
Simon James Cook – Veterinary Surgeon
I obtained my Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Bristol and qualified in 2013. Before joining Medivet I worked here at Pearl Vets. I am particularly interested in surgery. At home I have a Labrador. Outside of work I enjoy using the gym, socialising with friends, and playing tennis and rugby.

Gemma Louise Vardill – Head Veterinary Nurse
I studied at the Royal Veterinary College as a Clinical Coach and then qualified in 2010 as a Veterinary Nurse at Rodbaston College in Staffordshire. Before joining Medivet, I worked here when it was the Pearl Veterinary Group and before that, I worked at Bridgnorth Veterinary Centre. My special areas of interest lie in anaesthesia and theatre nursing. At home I have one cat and one dog. Outside of work I enjoy running, socialising and spray tanning!
Kristina Jones – Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse
I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2013 at Solihull College. Before joining Medivet Shrewsbury, I worked at Medivet in the Oakengates practice. I am particularly interested in anaesthesia, inpatient care, and marketing. At home I have one cat and a pet horse which I enjoy riding outside of work. I am enjoying taking a more senior role as acting deputy head nurse and I would like to continue to progress further!
Ellie Smith – Veterinary Nurse
I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2004 at Myerscough College in Preston. Before joining Medivet, I worked in a mixed practice, a referral and out-of-hours practice, and at Dogs Trust. I very much enjoy being in animal nurse clinics and helping animals recover from illness. At home I have two dogs. In my spare time, I enjoy taking part in motorsports, rugby, and reading.
Rebecca Beard – Veterinary Nurse
I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse at Rodbaston College in Staffordshire. Before joining Medivet, I worked here at the Pearl Vets Group as a veterinary nurse since 2011. I am particularly interested in surgical nursing and management. I am looking forward to continuing my career at Medivet.
Laura Medlicott – Student Veterinary Nurse
In 2009 I obtained a national diploma in Animal Management from Walford and North Shropshire College. Before joining Medivet, I worked in a nursing home and then joined the Pearl Veterinary Group. Once I am qualified, I would like to learn more about exotic species. At home I have one cat and two dogs. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and walking the dogs.
Sarah Jones – Patient Care Assistant
Before joining Medivet, I lived in Melbourne, Australia. I worked at Greencross vets as a receptionist and volunteered at the RSPCA once a week. My special areas of interest lie in nursing and caring for animals. I am also interested in learning more about surgery and medications. At home I have a puppy, a cat, and a hedgehog! Outside of work I enjoy walking, exercise, exploring, sports, and crafts such as making jewellery. I am very keen to begin my veterinary nursing qualification. I have loved animals since I can remember and I love that I get to care for them on a daily basis!
Robin Howe – Patient Care Assistant
I attended Walford College and obtained a BTEC in Animal Care, a first diploma in Animal Care, and an NVQ level 1 in Animal Care. I then went to Myerscough College and completed a course to become an animal nursing assistant. Before joining Medivet, I worked here at Pearl Vets. My special areas of interest lie with night shifts and kennels, as well as being involved in emergency cases. At home I have a Border Collie named Penny and a cat called DC. Outside of work I enjoy watching films, walking, dog walking, bee keeping, playing on my PS4, hiking, going to the gym, eating out, and going on nights out.
Laura Morgan – Veterinary Nurse
I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2015 from Harper Adams University. Before joining Medivet, I worked in a mixed animal practice. My special interests lie within theatre and physio. At home, I have five pets; Poppy (a Border Terrier), Fern (a working Cocker Spaniel), Minnie (Domestic Long Hair), Toffee (a horse) and Rudey who is a Bearded Dragon. Outside of work, I enjoy walking my dogs and horse riding.
Hannah Vickery – Student Veterinary Nurse
I hold a 2:1 degree in Psychology and have passed my first year of veterinary nursing. Before joining Medivet, I worked in a small independent mixed veterinary practice in Salisbury. My special field of interest within my field of work is diagnostic imaging. At home I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Olivander and a cat called Kiara. Outside of work, I enjoy walking my dog, running and agility.
Laura McNally – Practice Manager
I have a diploma in Animal Studies which I received in Australia. Before joining Medivet, I was a regional manager at Wellpets in West Country for two years. I was also a nurse at Wellpets in Kent for two years and a nurse at Mote Park for three years. When I was in Australia I worked at the RSPCA for two years. I am most interested in training, teaching, presentations, and spreadsheets. At home I have two cats, and outside of work I enjoy walking and training.
Andrea Macdonald – Client Care Assistant
I have obtained an NVQ in customer care. Before joining Medivet, I was a manager for Mini Club Clothing inside Boots. My special areas of interest are in customer care and the pet health club. At home I have one dog called Fizz, a cat called Peggy, and some tropical fish. In my spare time I enjoy walking and travelling.
Amy Roseanne Rhodes – Client Care Assistant
I have a level 2 and 3 diploma in Horse Management from Walford and North Shropshire College. I also have a level 2 in retail skills. Before joining Medivet, I was a dog walker and carer from 2014-2015. Before that I was a show jumping groom. My special areas of interest lie in medicines and meeting clients and their animals (especially kittens!). At home I have two cats. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing rounders, and horse-riding.
Clair Rebecca Harding – Client Care Assistant
I have completed a degree in Equine Industry Management BA (Hons) at Buckinghamshire University. I have also completed a PGCE in Primary Care at Reading University. Before joining Medivet, I worked as a receptionist at Temple End Veterinary Surgery in High Wycombe. I am very interested in welcoming pets and clients to my place of work, assisting clients with queries, and learning about medical conditions and treatments. I am also looking forward to completing admin duties and training new receptionists. At home I have horses, sheep, and dogs who live on a small holding. Outside of work I enjoy horse-riding, skydiving, walking, socialising, and photography.
Grace Lloyd – Client Care Assistant
I have an Extended Level Three Diploma in Animal Management. Before joining Medivet, I worked at an equine veterinary practice as a receptionist. What I love most about my job is getting to cuddle the animals and get to the know the clients. At home I have a rabbit called Benjamin Bunny; he is a domestic breed and loves giving kisses and playing chase! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my rabbit, horse riding and shopping.
Kimberley Jane Price – Dog Groomer
I have a diploma in Dog Grooming that I obtained after completing the Bristles Dog Grooming course. I have pets at home and outside of work, I enjoy seeing friends and spending time with family. I am looking forward to starting my career at Medivet!
Jessica Roberts – Dog Groomer
Nitzan Kroter - Senior Partner, Head of North West Region and Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in South Africa and moved with my family to England in 2000, where I worked as a small animal vet in Oxford, and later in Essex. I joined Medivet as a practice partner in 2005 to help run our Medivet Hockley practice. In 2009, I became a senior partner to run our Enfield 24-hour hospital as well as to manage the Enfield area. I joined Medivet due to their commitment to true 24-hour patient care. They provided me with state-of-the-art facilities as well as support from experienced colleagues to allow me to pursue my special interests in surgery. In 2013, I moved to develop a veterinary project abroad and came back to manage our North West region (West Midlands and Merseyside) in October 2015. The North West is an exciting, new and rapidly developing region and we are proud to use the support model provided by Medivet for the benefit of our patients, clients, staff and partners.
Rachel West - West Midlands, Shropshire and Merseyside Area Manager
I completed my studies at Hadlow College in Kent where I qualified in 2003. Prior to joining Medivet Shawbirch, I worked at Cinque Ports Vets where I worked for 9 years before joining Badgers Oak Vets for a further 6 years of experience. I am thrilled to now be a part of the Medivet family. I have a special interest in nurse clinics such as the weight clinics we run here at Shawbirch as well as the puppy parties we hold. I enjoy management and assisting in the running of the practice. I have three pets at home; my Labrador named Lola, an English Springer Spaniel called Lottie and my DSH cat called Buzz. I enjoy spending quality family time with my husband and three children. I also enjoy visiting family and friends as well as walking my dogs. I am now the Area Manager for the region and am enjoying my new role.
