James Champion - Partner & Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated in Perth, Western Australia in 1989 and went into mixed practice. I then travelled to the UK to do some locum work and finallly settled in Hong Kong for 2 years in a small animal practice, before returning to Australia and joining a large practice as a partner for 10 years. The UK finally beckoned and I returned here in 2007, joining Medivet as a partner in 2010.
Eira James - Head Veterinary Nurse
I joined the Barnes branch in 2014 as their practice co-ordinator and am now proud to say that with the support of my team, I have qualified and become their head veterinary nurse. It's been a hard slog to get here but working with animals gives me a sense of satisfaction that makes it all worth it. They say smiles are infectious and it's hard not to when you see the joy that people receive from their pets.
Takiya Franklyn - Patient Care Assistant
I was previously a performing arts student at Richmond upon Thames College and obtained a level 3 diploma in acting. However, working with animals has always been a passion of mine and so when I saw the opportunity to work at Medivet I jumped at the chance. In the future I hope to travel and work around the world once I've become a qualified nurse. I have a German Shepherd dog called Frisky, and have always wanted a pet snake.
Erica Waldron - Veterinary Nurse
I have worked at Barnes since 2000. At home I have four very naughty cats and a wonderful dog called Mia. My interests include keeping fit, gardening, horse riding, ice skating, rock climbing and travelling.
Toni Whitham - Pet Shop Manager
I graduated college in 2008 after studing a 2 year National Diploma in Performing Arts, I returned later the same year to study an NCFE in Photography for another year. I have always been an animal lover and started working for Medivet in 2013. My interests include horse racing, dog walking, reading and singing.
Katharine Gray - Client Care Assistant & Pet Shop Assistant
I have a BA degree in English as well as a diploma in Portraiture. Before joining Medivet, I worked as a freelance artist doing portraits, painting and printmaking. I really enjoy cats and hope to learn more about cats within my role as a patient care assistant. I have three cats of my own at home. I enjoy reading, art, languages, video games, drawing and theatre in my spare time.
