I graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Lisbon in 2015. I also trained in Barcelona during my degree. I joined Medivet in 2016 and have worked in a variety of clinics across London, joining permanently the Camberwell team in February 2023 and finally becoming branch partner in February 2024. I hold a certificate in Internal Medicine and I am working towards a certificate in ultrasonography. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine and have a particular interest in abdominal ultrasonography and management of medical cases. Outside of work I have a passion for travelling, reading and music and I escape to trek in nature whenever possible. I share my home with two very cheeky cats called Café and Luar who my partner and I have rescued.

I work part-time at the Medivet Camberwell practice as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, looking after the pets in the local area. At home, I’m kept busy by my two cats, my two dogs and my baby called Isla.

I’ve spent 30 years working around animals in stables, farms, kennels and now a veterinary practice. I thoroughly enjoy meeting our clients and their lovely pets. I live in London and I’m kept busy with my two children.

I joined the practice in May 2018 after finishing my Animal Care and Management course, for which I gained a merit. I’ve also spent time volunteering at Surrey Docks Farm for four years before joining the Camberwell team. At home, I have a cat called Joey who can be quite feisty.

Unfortunately, my visit to medivert was horrible. Due to the sudden passing of my friends rabbit they needed to make an emergency vet appointment 1. To assist with the dead rabbit 2. To check the alive rabbit as they were bonded to the other rabbit. We arrived at medivet before 2:15pm the appointment was scheduled for 2:15pm over the phone but when we got there it was changed to 2:30pm. We were left sitting in the waiting area with the alive and dead rabbit, with the passing of dogs in and out of the veterinary we raised our concerns for the stress this is causing the rabbit and that it has been 20 minutes since the 2:30pm appointment, it was then responded the vet is running behind and we can sit in a room. I have never experience having to keep ahold of a dead pet while waiting, we took the alive and dead rabbit into the room which felt like it had the heating on. After 40 minutes of waiting I contacted other veterinary’s on behalf of the owner of the rabbits who was mourning the loss of her pet. I then went to reception to say we would like to cancel and they did straight away and we left with both alive and dead rabbit.

Possibly the worst experience me and my partner have ever had. Booked an appointment at 2.15 from about 9 in the morning as my rabbit passed away and needs to be stored and sent for cremation ASAP. We arrived in time for the appointment and proceeded to wait an hour with no word or anything. Im holding my dead rabbit surrounded by dogs that could clearly smell, and holding my other rabbit who needs to be checked on as they just lost their bonded partner. So over an hour waiting holding my dead rabbit who is smelling at this point with my other rabbit surrounded by dogs. They could have had someone take my rabbit to store or at least away from the dogs and not have me hold him longer than i needed to due to the sadness me and my partner already have. We eventually had to find another vet as after an hour we still weren't seen or my dead rabbit attended to. No consideration, no empathy just entirely shocking. We couldnt believe it.

The staff is amazing here. Our pup Nox never dreads coming here due to awesome staff like Ricardo, who make him feel so at ease with a very easy-going attitude. Ricardo and other staff, like Daphne, truly seem to care about the animals that come in, which makes the parents feel relaxed. Thank you!

Medivet Camberwell have been there for my feline companion and I, and as far as I am concerned, the Vets and admin/reception have gone above and beyond to help, and to provide a good service. Everyone has their bad days, and I have read some some bad reviews, yet at the same time, a lot of good reviews. My review is good because in my experience, and speaking on my feline companions behalf, we have not experienced anything bad concerning Medivet Camberwell, and hopefully it remains this way. Fantastic people, fantastic work. Bravo!

The care and treatment is to a high standard but as usual with most of these consortiums buying up private practices, they extort people for money. The prices are way overinflated and if you don’t have insurance you’re screwed! They charge over the RRP for non prescription items (I got the products they recommended half the price from Amazon). It’s all about the money. Once I saw a man leave the practice and he seemed like he had genuinely forgot to pay before leaving especially as he was clearly upset and I witnessed the staff running after him down the road to get money from him. I also had some bloods taken for an investigation into some digestive issues and they wanted to charge me £50 for what was essentially a 5 minute follow up phone call to give me the results! UDPATE April 2024: Horrified to find out they are charging way over double their cost price for prescriptions even on basics such as worming/flee treatments. PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM!! If you have any issues/complaints please include your MP so they can be included as part of the new government enquiry into extortionate vet practices.

For a private vet I wouldn’t bother spending my money here, customer services is extremely poor. 1 star as I wasn’t allowed to submit a response without one.

Managed to fit us in in Easter Sunday for a Labrador emergency. They were fantastic and we were so grateful they could see us at such short notice.

Incredibly kind and empathetic. This practice has saved my cat's life twice. He gets the best of care and staff are understanding and helpful with insurance claims etc. Highly recommend.

Great facility that is spacious and well equipped. The entire team is lovely and super caring of their patients, but Mel really made the experience special.

The clinical staff are very good and gave excellent care to my cat. However, the customer care from the admin team is awful. I needed to claim back £1850 I had paid them from insurance. This required them to complete a basic online form from the insurance company which is probably a 3- to 5-minute minute task for them. I was told it would take them up to 4 weeks to do this owing to “a staff shortage”. The vet and nurse who saw my cat both said this was unacceptable and I should complain. So I sent a polite feedback email and received a really poor response implying that I was asking them to prioritise insurance forms over emergency treatment for sick animals - of course I wasn’t asking them to do that and it felt like they were trying to guilt-trip me for asking them to provide a reasonable standard of customer care. I can’t see how it is mutually exclusive to prioritise emergency care whilst at the same time ensuring you have sufficient admin staff to give a sensible turn-around time for insurance forms when I have paid them so much money to care for my cat.

I absolutely loved the whole experience, just like my cockapoo Leffe. My dog was welcomed by one of the nurses with so much love and that’s been the case the last few times. The new space looks and feels so fresh. Great team!
